Seabrook Part 1-- Kenley Gets Baptized

So this post has so many pictures and even some video that I'm going to split it into 2 different posts. So here goes Part 1.

Kenley was great on the plane out to South Carolina. She slept most of the time, and Mike kept her occupied for a bit as well. Gladly, we were not stuck with an upset baby, although she did have a bit of an attitude!

One of the more major things we did while out in South Carolina was have Kenley baptized. This is something Mike and I had talked about before we even had Kenley, and something that we agreed to wanting to do, but we didn't want to do anything super formal and stuffy. So, us being truly beachy people, my mom had suggested baptizing Kenley in South Carolina down by the water. We agreed that it was a great idea, so my mom set everything up. The baptismal font was located outside, amongst the trees, with the ocean just beyond the treeline. The pastor, Kelli, was great, and really put us at ease with all our questions.

Before we left, we had asked my sisters and their husbands to be Kenley's godparents. Both agreed, and they sent some beautiful words along that I'm sure Kenley will love to read when she is older. We also asked Mike's best friend, Pat, to be a godparent as well. The ceremony was beautiful, and Kenley was an angel! :) She slept through most of it, and awoke during the sprinkling with just the appropriate amount of crying. :) The pastor had mixed sea water from Seabrook with holy water from the River of Jordan! We thought it was a very special touch, and loved how everything went.

Afterwards, we had a really nice reception at the club on the patio. Kenley, ever the diva, even had a wardrobe change! Too many cute dresses, gotta wear them all!
