Week:Nine

I'm late on this again I know. So hard to post during the week...depending on Kenley's mood. Sometimes she's a good napper, and others she only wants to sleep in my arms. So here we are at nine weeks. This past week Kenley had her 2-month appointment at the doctor. She weighed in at a healthy 11 lbs. 1 oz, and 22.5 inches long! She's near the 50% for both categories, so pretty much average for her age. When we told the doctor that she has been batting at objects, he said she was very intelligent because that is usually a 4-month development. I'm sure he says these types of things to all the baby parents, but we think she's pretty smart too!

Kenley is VERY observant. She loves staring at things and is constantly turning her head back and forth to check out her surroundings. Mike says it looks like she's watching a tennis match! She now holds pretty steady eye contact with us, and cracks a smile more times than not. We've had a few small giggles...but nothing we could call a full blown laugh just yet. She also has really strong legs. When we hold her up, she bears her weight on them and can practically stand assisted. When we put her on her tummy, she pushes her legs straight, and she practically goes into a plank position. We are both sure she is going to be a stellar athlete!

Her eyes are still blue (and most people seem to think they might stay this way...I'm still hoping for a turn to brown), and her hair is still strawberry blonde! As she's grown more and more, we think she is really starting to look like a good mix between the two of us.

We are getting really excited, because Kenley is going to get to meet some important people soon! My sis Whitney is coming into town in a couple weeks, as are our great friends Staci and Andy! We are so excited for them to meet Kenley, and trust us...Kenley is excited to meet yall too! :)
